Also known as the “Fort of Victory,” Jaigarh Fort is perched on the Aravalli range’s “Cheel ka Teela” (Hill of Eagles). Built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II in 1726, it served as a defense structure to protect Amber Fort and Jaipur. The fort is well-preserved and houses the world’s largest cannon on wheels, “Jaivana,” built in 1720 but never used in battle. The fort also served as the royal treasury and has an elaborate system of water storage and a network of underground passages linking to Amber Fort.
